Reflexology Lymph Drainage (RLD)

RLD is an award-winning reflexology technique focusing on stimulating the lymphatic reflexes on the feet. The aim is to cause an effect on the lymphatic system in the body and reduce lymph build up in the affected area.

RLD has been researched and developed by Sally Kay BSc(Hons) whilst working in cancer care and I have been very fortunate to have been trained in this unique sequence by Sally and can now offer RLD..

Following breast cancer, many patients develop secondary lymphoedema of the arm. Lymphoedema is persistent tissue swelling due to the failure of lymph drainage and currently the treatments for this are; use of compression bandages and garments, skin care, exercise and massage, there is no cure.

RLD is not only used for lymphoedema, it may be useful for clients with many other conditions. In fact I incorporate this technique into many of my regular reflexology sessions as well as using the full RLD technique whilst working with Lymphoedema clients.

It is recommended that initially four weekly sessions may be beneficial and follow up sessions as and when required or whenever you feel you need a top up.

Please note that the following are contraindicated conditions:
Cellulitis, fever or contagious illness, unstable heart condition, kidney failure, pacemaker fitter, DVT or pulmonary embolism, athletes foot or clients that are currently under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
